Thermal Analysis of the magnetised convective–radiative circular fin: A comparative investigation of magnetised and non-magnetised circular fins

Heat transfer between an ambient fluid and a hot source is enhanced by fins, which increase the surface area for thermal transmission. In circular conduits, the outside surface is covered with circular or concentric radial fins, which enhance heat transfer. Devices such as automobile radiators, electronic appliances, and computer equipment use fins to exchange heat. As a result of these applications, the current article studies a porous magnetised radial fin under the effect of heat generation. Further, Peclet numbers, surface temperatures, and ambient temperatures are considered. The model is solved using the shooting technique, which converts the BVP into IVPs. Then interpreted the graphical representation to study the temperature and efficiency of the radial fin. Magnetic number, radiation parameter, Raleigh number (porosity parameter), and convective parameter are found to reduce the temperature, whereas Peclet number and ambient temperature escalate it. A rise in the magnetic number from 0.3 to 0.7 declines the thermal profile by about 7%, while upgrading the radiation parameter from 0.3 to 0.7 reduces the temperature by nearly 4%, and ameliorating the porosity parameter from 0.3 to 0.7 lowers the thermal profile by 5%. Furthermore, as the Hartmann number, porosity parameter, and convective and radiative parameters increase, efficiency also increases, whereas efficiency diminishes as the Peclet number and ambient temperature grow. Magnetised circular fins exhibit greater heat loss capability and efficiency compared to non-magnetised circular fins. This work contributes to the UN SDGs by improving energy efficiency, advancing cooling technologies, minimising energy waste, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This analysis is in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which promotes the thermal management technologies for systems development and industrial growth.
