Entre el ser y el hacer
Between Being and Doing is a reflection on the origin and purpose of artistic expression. Considering art as a form of knowledge for the artist, artistic expression is a dialogue with matter, with the spirit, with emotion, with science, and with humanism, and most importantly, along with interaction, it is sharing. In creation, the brain, heart, and body are synchronized, and in the face of any new experience, we must listen and develop attention. How many neurons are set in motion through all possible circuits in the face of creative, artistic, and aesthetic experiences! In creation, in contemplation, in aesthetic experiences, and in meditative experiences, the heart and brain communicate in just the right amount. This allows us to perceive beyond ourselves, less conditioned by our perception of the self. If we could sense that everything and everyone are part of something so vast and complex, we would open many barriers to our ability to interpret the world, and it would be easier to establish relationships between things. This indissoluble connection between the ephemeral and the eternal, between the solid and the light, the heavy and the weightless, constantly revolves around my work. Through the alchemy of thought and the materials that achieve this connection, we can reflect on the capacity and role of art in our vision and interpretation of the world.
