Application of response surface methodology for optimization of bleaching methyl orange dye using Fe(III)TAML/H2O2
This study investigates the homogeneous catalysis of methyl orange (MO) dye degradation using the Fe(III)TAML/H2O2 system, focusing on optimizing the reaction conditions using response surface methodology (RSM). The Fe(III)TAML complex, known for its catalytic efficiency and environmental compatibility, was employed to facilitate the oxidative bleaching of the dye. The effects of key parameters, including the pH, stirring speed, and dye concentration, on the degradation rate were explored. RSM, a statistical approach for process optimization, was applied to determine the optimum conditions for maximal dye removal. The results showed that the optimal pH, stirring speed, and dye ratio were determined to ensure the most efficient catalytic bleaching process. These findings demonstrate that the Fe(III)TAML/H2O2 system is a highly effective and environmentally sustainable approach for the catalytic degradation of MO, providing valuable insights for industrial wastewater treatment applications.
