Advancing lunar exploration extravehicular spacesuits: Opportunities and challenges of intelligent fabrics
As human lunar exploration progresses towards long-term lunar surface operations, the existing extravehicular spacesuits are facing significant technological bottlenecks in terms of sustainability, adaptability, and intelligence. In response to the requirements of long-term lunar missions, this study proposes a new-generation extravehicular spacesuit technology framework. Based on the integration of intelligent textile and flexible electronics technologies, it achieves the integration of high-precision physiological monitoring, multi-modal environmental perception, and adaptive human-machine interaction systems, significantly enhancing the suit's adaptability to working conditions and operational sustainability. The relevant technological breakthroughs will drive the innovation of deep-space exploration equipment, significantly improve the operational efficiency of astronauts, and lay a key technological foundation for manned lunar missions.
