PERBEDAAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN GAGAL JANTUNG KONGESTIF BERDASARKAN KARAKTERISTIK DEMOGRAFI KOMORBID HIPERTENSI DAN DIABETES MILITUS DI RSUD MOKOPIDO TOLITOLI

This study was motivated by the increasing prevalence of Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and its significant impact on patients' quality of life. However, specific data on this issue at Mokopido Tolitoli Regional General Hospital (RSUD Mokopido Tolitoli) are not yet available. This data gap hampers the design of holistic nursing services. Therefore, this study focused on analyzing and comparing the quality of life of CHF patients based on demographic characteristics and the presence or absence of comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus. This study used a quantitative descriptive-comparative design with a purposive sampling technique involving 50 patients. Quality of life data were collected using the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ) and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The main findings indicated that the patients' quality of life was generally very low; the majority fell into the poor (52%) and moderate (48%) categories, with no patients reporting a good quality of life. The statistical test results showed no statistically significant difference in quality of life (p = 0.843) between comorbidity groups. However, clinically, patients with multiple comorbidities (hypertension and diabetes) exhibited the worst quality of life. It was concluded that CHF places a significant burden on all aspects of patients' lives, and a more comprehensive, multidisciplinary management approach is needed.
