Goddess Art: Rituales performativos de poder y transformación en el arte feminista estadounidense de la segunda mitad del siglo XX

Goddess Art is an artistic current that had its expansion in the sixties and seventies of the last century. Within the different disciplines, performance was characterized by its connection to ritual, due to the link between Goddess art and spirituality, psychology and counterculture, giving performative actions a transformative quality. Goddess Art not only challenged the dominant power structures, taking action against androcentric symbolic domination and giving women back control over their bodies. Through the exploration of the female body, artists created new images and reconnected with the sacred, challenging religious and social conceptions. The ritualistic performances act as a space for resistance, healing and empowerment, both on an individual and collective level, and continue to be a source of inspiration for new generations of artists committed to art as a tool for experimentation, transformation and resistance.
