Novel Mercury (II) Benzotriazole Mixed Ligand of Phosphine Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization
ABSTRACT In the present work, benzotriazole (Hbta) ligand was used for the synthesis of new complexes with Phenylmercury(II)acetate. The characterization results prove that the prepared complex is an organometallic complex ([PhHg(bta)]). Treatment of [PhHg(bta)] with one mole equivalent of the diphosphines {diphos = Ph 2 P(CH 2 ) n PPh 2 ; n = 2, dppe; n = 3, dppp; n = 4, dppb} afforded mixed ligand complexes of the formula [PhHg(bta)(diphos)]; diphos = dppe ( 2 ), dppp ( 3 ) or dppb ( 4 ). The resulting complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, infrared, 1 H‐ and 31 P‐{ 1 H} NMR spectroscopy. In complexes; ( 1 – 4 ), benzotriazolate links to mercury through its deprotonated nitrogen atom in a monodentate fashion.
