Network Analysis of Quranic Dependency Graph of Juz 30 Based on Centrality Measure and In-Degree Distribution

The Quran is the holy book of Muslims which has distinctive linguistic and characteristic, as well as a complex structure. To understand this complex system, an approach is needed that can identify the relationship between the components in it. One approach that can be used is network analysis of graphs which is a representation of a system. This study aims to build dependency graph of Quran Juz 30 using dependency parsing approach and analyze network based on word centrality and in-degree distribution. The resulting dependency graph consisted of 721 nodes and 646 edges with the words رب (God) and جاء (come) as the most central words in Juz 30 with a centrality value of 0.0167. It was revealed that the network was scale-free, indicating that it was organized and possessed natural complexity. This research contributes to the study of network science, particularly in the field of Quranic linguistics which is still limited to date.
