Design and Implementation of IoT-Based Water Quality Monitoring System for Shrimp Ponds
The design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT) based water quality monitoring system for shrimp ponds is presented, integrating IoT sensors to monitor critical water parameters such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and total dissolved solids (TDS), essential for the survival and growth of shrimp. The data collected by these sensors is transmitted to a remote server and displayed in real time via a mobile application. This enables shrimp farmers to remotely monitor water quality conditions and receive alerts when any parameter exceeds safe levels, facilitating timely intervention to prevent crop failures and minimize losses. By integrating IoT technology into the aquaculture sector, the system provides an efficient, scalable solution for improving water quality management, enhancing shrimp farming productivity, and ensuring the sustainability of aquaculture businesses. While the system has proven effective, future developments may focus on improving sensor accuracy, expanding parameter monitoring, and incorporating automatic control systems for more efficient water quality management.
