Analysis of the Acoustic Stress Field in an Array of Collinear Structural Inhomogeneities with Angular Periodicity

The problem of mode I time-harmonic loading of an array of circular crack-like discontinuities centered at the vertices of a regular polygon is considered. Taking angular periodicity into account allows the problem to be reduced to a single boundary integral equation. The dependencies of the dynamic stress intensity factors on the frequency of the applied load, the number of defects, and the distance between them have been computed and analyzed.

Abstract

The problem of mode I time-harmonic loading of an array of circular crack-like discontinuities centered at the vertices of a regular polygon is considered. Taking angular periodicity into account allows the problem to be reduced to a single boundary integral equation. The dependencies of the dynamic stress intensity factors on the frequency of the applied load, the number of defects, and the distance between them have been computed and analyzed.
