Near Field Parameters of Focused Aperture with Tapered Amplitude Distribution
In this paper, analytical expressions are derived for the main parameters characterizing the axial field distribution of an antenna with a circular aperture and a parabola-on-a-pedestal amplitude distribution, focused in the near field. The influence of the pedestal height and the focusing distance on Focal Shift (FS), Depth of Focus (DoF), and Focusing Gain (FG) is investigated. A comparison is made with the exact results obtained through numerical (computer-based) simulations.
