Application of First-Order Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control in Three-Phase Vienna Rectifiers

This paper presents a first-order Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control (LADRC) strategy to address the slow response and poor disturbance rejection of conventional PI dual-loop control in three-phase Vienna rectifiers. The method integrates an Extended State Observer (ESO) into both the voltage outer loop and current inner loop to estimate and compensate for total disturbances in real time, including grid-voltage fluctuations, load variations, and model uncertainties. The control law is designed to achieve d–q axis decoupling and accurate DC-link voltage regulation, and is implemented with Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) in MATLAB/Simulink. Simulations and hardware tests conducted under typical conditions, including load steps and grid-voltage fluctuations. Results demonstrate that the proposed LADRC outperforms traditional Proportional-Integral (PI) control in response speed and disturbance rejection.
