Integrated design of dedicated power supply for piezoelectric stick-slip drivers

The operation of traditional piezoelectric stick-slip actuators usually requires the cooperation of external devices, such as signal generators and power amplifiers. Due to the large size of these devices and the need for 220V voltage for power supply, the driver is difficult to operate in places with high integration requirements. To address the above issues, this paper proposes an integrated sawtooth wave signal generation circuit based on the adjustable parameters of the LM358 operational amplifier, which is different from the traditional excitation method. This circuit is powered by dry batteries and is applied to the friction rod type piezoelectric stick-slip driver. The parameters such as the voltage, frequency and symmetry of the output sawtooth wave signal can be changed by altering the resistance of the sliding rheostat on the integrated sawtooth wave generation circuit. The volume of the integrated sawtooth wave generation circuit is 47mm × 39mm × 18mm, which is significantly reduced compared to traditional signal generation devices. By adopting the designed circuit, the output signal can achieve a regulating bandwidth of 50 to 2200 Hz, a regulating voltage of 0 to 22 V, and a regulating symmetry of 1% to 99%. The friction rod type piezoelectric stick-slip actuator driven by this signal can achieve a maximum forward speed of 648.7μm/s and a motion resolution of 0.5 μm. Through experimental tests, the integrated sawtooth wave generation circuit can output stable sawtooth wave signals, making the output characteristics of the friction rod type piezoelectric stick-slip driver stable and precisely fixed. It has important applications in the field
