Research on Optimal Configuration Method for Multi-type Reactive Power Compensation Devices Considering Multi-Form Voltage Stability Constraints

Aimed at the multi-form transient voltage problems in high-penetration renewable energy DC sending-end grids under typical faults, such as transient low-voltage, transient overvoltage, sustained low-voltage, and low-high voltage cascades, this paper analyzes and compares the response characteristics of synchronous condensers (SynCons) and Static Var Generators (SVGs) under these multi-form transient voltages. Subsequently, considering the improvement effects on multi-form voltage stability, an optimal configuration method for multiple types of reactive power compensation devices is proposed. This method is validated and analyzed for effectiveness in a high-penetration renewable energy DC sending-end grid case study. The analysis results demonstrate that the proposed configuration method can effectively resolve the aforementioned multi-form transient voltage problems.
