Active Damping of Torsional Interharmonic in Large Variable Speed Drives
One of the major challenges in the reliable operation of power converters are the harmonics propagated along the electromechanical system. Limited knowledge of the load, whose mechanical characteristics possibly change over time, demand a robust approach to optimally operate the converter. In this work, we present a frequency domain control solution to address oscillation propagation along the drive, improve its performance, reduce the chance of triggered faults and shaft damage.
