Research on Market Clearing Models Incorporating Shared Energy Storage for Ramp Services
Energy storage systems play a crucial role in power systems with a high penetration of renewable energy, yet their inherent volatility poses challenges to electricity market operations. In this context, a key research focus is how shared energy storage can address operational issues of grid-connected renewable energy stations while participating in ramp ancillary services in the electricity spot market. To this end, this paper investigates the market mechanism and clearing model for shared energy storage participating in ramp ancillary services. First, the capacity determination and market trading methods for ramp ancillary services are introduced. Building on this, an operational framework for shared energy storage is designed, accounting for renewable energy output deviations, leading to a market-clearing model that incorporates shared energy storage in ramp services. Case studies demonstrate the feasibility of utilizing shared energy storage as a flexible regulation resource for ramp ancillary services.
