Electrodynamic Characteristics of Single- and Double-Open Ring Microstrip Patch Antennas

An approximate solution on the problem of determination the electromagnetic radiation fields and resonant frequencies of an open ring patch antenna and double-open ring patch antenna is presented. The solution is performed using the resonator method and taking into account the influence of all geometrical parameters of the antenna. A comparison of calculated, numerical simulated (CST) results and experimental data is given.

Abstract

An approximate solution on the problem of determination the electromagnetic radiation fields and resonant frequencies of an open ring patch antenna and double-open ring patch antenna is presented. The solution is performed using the resonator method and taking into account the influence of all geometrical parameters of the antenna. A comparison of calculated, numerical simulated (CST) results and experimental data is given.
