Deployment of ManageIQ Server with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol User Authentication Using FreeIPA

In modern cloud management platforms, secure and scalable authentication mechanisms are critical for efficient resource management and user access control. This study investigates the deployment and integration of the ManageIQ server with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) based authentication using FreeIPA. The study employs a simulation-based approach, where ManageIQ is configured to utilize FreeIPA for centralized user authentication and resource management. Performance metrics were evaluated for creating tenants, creating users, jitter, packet loss, server usage for tenants and users, and throughput. Experimental results demonstrate that the system achieves optimal performance levels aligned with Telecommunications and Internet Protocol Harmonization Over Networks (TIPHON) standards, indicating its suitability for real-world applications. The findings highlight significant improvements in scalability, security, and system efficiency compared to traditional authentication approaches. This study focuses on the comprehensive evaluation of the integration of FreeIPA with ManageIQ, providing valuable information for enhancing authentication frameworks in hybrid cloud environments.
