Optimal Actuator Locations for Distributed Parameter Systems involving Space-fractional Operators

This work is concerned with finding optimal actuator locations for infinite-dimensional systems with fractional operators. The system under consideration contains space-fractional derivatives and considers the ${{\mathbb{H}}_2}{\text{ - control}}$ performance metric as an optimization function for location optimization. Numerical studies for a diffusion problem are presented to illustrate the effects of the orders of fractional operators on the optimal actuator location.

Abstract

This work is concerned with finding optimal actuator locations for infinite-dimensional systems with fractional operators. The system under consideration contains space-fractional derivatives and considers the ${{\mathbb{H}}_2}{\text{ - control}}$ performance metric as an optimization function for location optimization. Numerical studies for a diffusion problem are presented to illustrate the effects of the orders of fractional operators on the optimal actuator location.
