Neuroeducación y estrategias didácticas para el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico

The present study aimed to analyze the impact of neuroeducational teaching strategies on the development of critical thinking in secondary school students attending public institutions in Ecuador. A mixed approach with a quasi-experimental design was applied, using an experimental and a control group, with pre- and post-test tests, as well as qualitative instruments such as interviews and reflective journals. The quantitative results showed significant improvements in the experimental group's critical thinking, with high effect sizes, confirming the intervention's effectiveness. At the qualitative level, positive perceptions related to motivation, usefulness, and the dynamics of the activities were identified, although limitations related to technological access and available time were also noted. The triangulation of results allowed for the integration of numerical and testimonial data, generating a comprehensive view of the process. In conclusion, neuroeducational strategies represent an effective pedagogical alternative for strengthening essential cognitive competencies in the Ecuadorian public education system, with potential for application in similar contexts.
