DIGITAL PAYMENT LEGAL TERMINOLOGY IN ONLINE TRANSACTIONS

Today, the increasingly advanced development of digital technology is forcing Indonesians to become increasingly accustomed to digital financial transactions, allowing payments to be made online (digital payments). E-commerce products are beginning to displace the role and performance of conventional payments. Because the potential for fraud from the application of technology is always present, with the rise in cases of digital payments being misused to commit crimes, clear terminology is needed to provide a legal umbrella and protection for the public as users of electronic transactions. In this regard, this study addresses the following issues: first, why is the use of digital payments vulnerable to e-commerce crime? and second, what is the legal terminology of digital payments in online transactions? The research method used is normative juridical. In this study, digital payment terminology is the primary focus in presenting law as a subject, regulating and stipulating legal fraud, and focusing on digital payment systems. The results of this study indicate that to create legal certainty in electronic payment transactions (digital payments), more optimal laws are needed, aimed at strengthening regulations and law enforcement. Cross-sector collaboration, accompanied by more consistent regulatory strengthening, is needed to increase public trust as consumers and service users. Strengthening digital payment infrastructure and knowledge through continuous education and outreach to the public is expected to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining data security

Today, the increasingly advanced development of digital technology is forcing Indonesians to become increasingly accustomed to digital financial transactions, allowing payments to be made online (digital payments). E-commerce products are beginning to displace the role and performance of conventional payments.
