Advanced system for automated monitoring of voltage conditions through the analysis of time series from power plants in distribution network of the Republic of Croatia

In recent years, the Republic of Croatia has recorded a significant increase in the number of power plants connected to the national distribution network, in line with national strategies and European guidelines for sustainable development. Solar power plants, in particular, have seen notable growth and are increasingly impacting voltage conditions in the network. Given this growth, there has arisen a need for an automated system to monitor measurements from power plants and oversee time series of voltage measurements. In addition to analysing information from power plants, the application also monitors measurements from 10/0.4kV and 20/0.4kV substations and performs basic calculations for the connection possibilities of new power plants based on the voltage conditions and load of individual low-voltage lines in the distribution network. Currently, the system discussed in this paper monitors more than 26,000 power plants connected to the distribution network of the Republic of Croatia, and this number is continuously increasing.
