Consumption alarms to customers using smart meters real-time measurement

Elenia has pioneered the use of new smart meters in innovative ways. The goal was to make these meters the foundation of a smart grid and support new business processes. The role of meters is intended to expand beyond just measuring energy. To achieve these goals, real-time communication and extensive integrations were prioritized for meters and systems. Additionally, there was a desire to focus on customer-centricity and elevate traditional electricity distribution to the next level using more accurate data. In 2023, Elenia introduced a new service called AinaLab to provide new features from meters directly to consumers. In AinaLab, customers can monitor the load distribution of their home’s electricity system and view their own electricity consumption with a five-minute resolution, phase by phase, with no more than a 20-minute delay, and possibly even faster in the future. Real-time and accurate information about their consumption and production helps customers understand the usage of their home and electrical appliances. Building on these points, we continued to develop new services under AinaLab. The next-level consumption guard was launched to customers at the beginning of 2025, allowing them to receive alerts for changes in electricity usage almost in real-time.
