Monitoring and simulation tool for enhancing reliability in the power distribution system
The energy quality is one of the main focuses of the Brazilian Procedures for Distribution of Electric Energy in the Electric System (PRODIST) by Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), which establishes guidelines and indicators to measure and ensure the reliability of the power distribution systems. Collective indicators such as the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) and the System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) are essential for assessing the performance of Distribution System Operator (DSO) and guaranteeing both the reliability and excellence of the service delivered. A Qualiplus® software was developed by Daimon Engenharia e Sistemas to assist DSOs find a balance between improving service quality and optimizing financial costs. Simulating different investment scenarios, the software allows DSO to identify the most profitable interventions, maximizing return on investment (ROI) and ensuring the business effectiveness. In this way, DSO can both meet the requirements of PRODIST efficiently and optimise costs.
