Modern transformer concepts for improved resilience of power distribution systems
This paper discusses options for improving the resilience of power distribution systems from the perspective of transformer technology. Utilities can choose from multiple options in transformer design to mitigate grid impacts, avoid outages, prevent operational issues and be able to react to emergencies effectively. Modern solutions include advanced insulation systems that significantly improve loading flexibility and may reduce the size and weight of equipment.
