Investigation of the relationship between power of a boost-type converter used as an active power factor corrector and its supraharmonic emissions

The work presented herein explores the modeling of power electronics converters with a focus on their harmonic emissions. Specifically, it examines high-frequency emissions in the 2–150 kHz range, commonly referred to as supraharmonics. This study models a conventional converter, specifically a boost converter functioning as an active power factor corrector (APFC). The objective is to analyze the factors influencing the supraharmonic emissions of this classical converter. Three distinct approaches are employed in this research: analytical, numerical, and experimental methods. The analytical investigation utilizes the double Fourier series (DFS) to determine the harmonic emissions systematically. The study is further developed to address the relationship between the power of the device, in this case, the boost converter, and its supraharmonic emissions.
