Unveiling the Dutch IEC 61850 DSO-DER realtime interface: practical insights and experiences
For the first time in history, DSOs in The Netherlands are able to influence in real-time the actual delivered power, produced by DER connected customers. This paper will present the Dutch solution for DSO-DER interfacing, called the ‘RealtimeInterface’. Special attention is given to the technical and implementation aspects of theRealtimeInterface, in particular to the application of IEC 61850 outside the conventional boundaries of the substation.
