Dynamic load profiling for the market: an innovation leveraging the widespread deployment of Linky smart meters
Load Profiling allows to determine, through sampling, the consumption (or generation) of electricity by customer category, without the widespread collection of Linky load curves and with a very favourable cost/benefit ratio. This data service from Enedis is essential to operations of the market, as it enables electricity flows to be allocated by quarter-hour and by market player (Balance Responsible Party) for the purpose of billing system balancing costs (balancing is essential to the stability of the grid). In July 2024, the Enedis profiling model completed its transformation, which began in mid-2018, towards a "dynamic" mode. This paper presents the dynamic profiling model implemented by Enedis, the data used (from smart meters), and the performance achieved.
