Case study for reducing voltage sag impacts in industrial clients
This paper presents a methodological approach to reducing the impact of voltage sags on industrial customer processes. This methodology has been systematized using software developed by the Brazilian electricity distribution company Neoenergia Coelba and has provided quick and efficient results. The development in question follows a systematic methodology that consists of identifying the customer's sensitivity to define their vulnerability area. This is followed by actions on the distribution network, as well as actions on the customer's internal installations that will reduce their vulnerability area and consequently the impact of voltage sag on their facilities. This method uses information from the Geographic Information System (GIS) network register, the power distribution company's grid protection systems, and data from power quality analyzers, including the GODEL PQA 900, a class A power quality analyzer with continuous waveform register function developed by Neoenergia Coelba through the research, development, and innovation program, regulated by the Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).
