Extended analysis of power transformer conditions in the DACH region: comparative study of typical gas levels and formation rates

This paper presents an extended analysis of power transformer conditions in the DACH region, focusing on a comparative study of typical gas levels and formation rates. The study compares data from two major studies, IEC 60599 and IEEE C57.104, with dissolved gas analyses gathered from transformers in the DACH region. The results show that both the absolute gas levels and gas formation rates from the IEEE study are highly comparable to those presented in this paper. In contrast, the IEC study reveals significant differences, as the formation rates are notably lower in the DACH region than those observed in the IEC study, highlighting regional variations in transformer behavior as well as the error-prone structure of the study.
