Research on the Impact of Government Sector on Industrial Upgrading Coefficient of the Port Cities

Nowadays, figuring out the relationship between industrial upgrading and government departments is of vital importance, since they interact and influence each other. Therefore, this research will study the impact of the government sector on the industrial upgrading coefficient of the port cities to understand the causal relationship between them through multiple linear regression. In the first part, a research study to understand the impact of Tertiary sector employment and Fiscal Expenditure towards Economic Growth in China in 2014-2023. This study finds that the magnitude of tertiary sector employment exerts no significant impact on Chinas GDP, whereas the scale of fiscal expenditure demonstrates a tangible effect on Chinas per capita GDP. In the next part, this study conducts research about the relationship between government expenditure and industrial upgrading in port cities. It is said that the impact of the government expenditure (GX) in the inland river cities (Chongqing, Nanjing, Wuhan) on dependent variable-industrial upgrading coefficient is significant and they all have positive coefficient, while in the study of the influence of the government spending on the coastal cities (Qingdao, Shanghai, Guangzhou), the result is insignificant.
