La Escritura Creativa como herramienta para el desarrollo de habilidades socioemocionales.
This quantitative-experimental study, contextualized in Ecuadorian high schools, aimed to determine the influence of creative writing on the development of socio-emotional skills. Initially, the research established the need for an innovative pedagogical approach, aligned with the global guidelines of the 2030 Agenda and the policies of Ecuador's Ministry of Education, to strengthen these competencies in young people. The general objective was to evaluate the impact of a structured creative writing program, based on Pennebaker's theory of expressive writing and the CASEL model. The methodology employed was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test on a sample of 150 students, divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through standardized questionnaires and analyzed using inferential statistics. The main results revealed a statistically significant difference (p < .01) between both groups, demonstrating that the creative writing intervention generated a notable increase in the participants' socio-emotional skills. The study concludes that creative writing is an effective and measurable tool for the comprehensive development of students, particularly in fostering self-awareness and self-management. It is recommended that this practice be formally integrated into the educational curriculum to promote emotional intelligence and well-being.
