Highly Efficient Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Activity over CdS/NiS Nanocomposites under Visible Light
The development of efficient and stable non-precious metal-based photocatalytic materials is an important way to achieve hydrogen production through water cracking, which is of great significance for alleviating the energy crisis and environmental pollution. Our research indicates that a breakthrough has been made in the field of structurally uniform CdS/NiS nanocomposites synthesized by the hydrothermal method. Facile hydrothermal synthesis of CdS/NiS nanocomposites achieves exceptional visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution ($5.6 \mathrm{mmol} \cdot \mathrm{g}^{-1} \cdot \mathrm{~h}^{-1}$), showcasing a 31-fold enhancement over pure CdS. This work highlights both the remarkable efficiency and straightforward preparation of non-precious metal photocatalysts for sustainable hydrogen production.
