Construction of Hydrophilic Molecularly Imprinted Polymer Based on Dual‐Recognition Strategy for the Extraction of Dihydromyricetin From Ampelopsis grossedentata

ABSTRACT A hydrophilic molecularly imprinted polymer (DYM‐HMIP) based on a dual‐recognition strategy was fabricated for selective adsorption of dihydromyricetin (DYM) in aqueous media. Of which, the deep eutectic solvent (DES, choline chloride/methacrylic acid, 1/2, molar ratio) as the non‐covalent functional monomers interacted with DYM via hydrogen bonds, and the vinylphenylboronic acid (VPBA) incorporated a boronate affinity covalent bond with DYM. The adsorption properties of the as‐synthesized DYM‐MIP were investigated by altering the content of DES and pH of the incubation solution. By comparing with other reported adsorbents for DYM, DYM‐MIP displayed a superior adsorption capacity. The characterization results demonstrated that DYM‐MIP was microspheres with a particle size of about 300–500 nm. In addition, both BET surface area and pore volume were larger than those of DYM‐NIP. The adsorption experiments showed that the DYM‐MIP exhibited excellent recognition (21.69 ± 0.95 mg g −1 ) for DYM in aqueous solution, and the adsorption behavior conformed to the Freundlich isotherm and pseudo‐second‐order kinetics adsorption. Equipped with outstanding selectivity and reusability, the resultant DYM‐MIP was successfully employed as an adsorbent for the selective extraction of DYM from Ampelopsis grossedentata . These results provided a simple and effective method for synthesizing hydrophilic imprinted polymers, and the DYM‐MIP possessed great potential for the separation and purification of DYM from natural products in aqueous media.
