Military songs in the context of preserving cultural identity
The research aims to identify the role of modern military songs in preserving “cultural identity”. The significance of military songs in the process of maintaining cultural identity correlates with their correspondence to the basic “culture code” in Russian culture, which is defined as the code of “service”. In the article, within the framework of the methodology of discourse analysis, the texts of modern “military songs” (written by participants in the special military operation or dedicated to the events of the SMO) are correlated with the basic components of the culture code “service”. Transformations in the interpretation of the culture code “service” are considered in the context of such phenomena of modern culture as “technologization”, “professionalization”, and “individualization”. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that it concretizes such fundamental categories as culture code and cultural identity on the material of military songs, and also identifies the mechanism for transmitting the culture code in the social system. The research found that military songs in modern culture retain their function as a tool for transmitting the basic components of the culture code. Through military songs, the transmission of this basic culture code is carried out, which, in turn, constitutes the essence of the process of cultural identification – self-determination at the national level, affirmation of cultural autonomy, understanding of one’s own uniqueness through the definition of the uniqueness of another culture.
