Hybrid substantive nomination based on compounding in German from an onomasiological perspective

The research aims to identify the functional-pragmatic potential of onomasiological categories in substantive hybrid nominations based on compounding. The article examines hybrid composites from the point of view of onomasiology and describes the lexico-semantic, structural-semantic, and linguo-pragmatic features of hybrid nominations. The connection between the onomasiological approach to the consideration of the processes of hybrid substantive word formation and the theory of nomination is emphasized. It is proved that the semantic scope of compound words is formed due to linguistic means and cognitive mechanisms (speech-thought operations). The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that hybrid substantive composites in the field of education are presented in an onomasiological light for the first time. The onomasiological structure of hybrid composites has been established. The etymological status of borrowed components is shown. Productive models of substantive hybrid word formation have been identified. A tendency towards the creation of hybrid decomposites with complicated onomasiological structures is noted. As a result of the research, it has been proven that in the process of hybridization, substantive composites with different stylistic coloring are formed, which, in turn, can be a source for the formation of new hybrid derivatives.
