Kadın Sağlığı ve Dijital Dönüşüm: Dijital Sağlık Okuryazarlığı
In the 21st century, the rapid development of the internet and digital technologies has significantly influenced daily life. These advancements have accelerated digitalization in the healthcare sector, leading to the emergence of the concept of digital health. Digital health refers to the use of the internet and technology to enhance healthcare services and facilitate access to medical information. However, accessing accurate and reliable information is only possible through digital health literacy skills. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines digital health literacy as the ability to access, comprehend, and interpret information from electronic sources. This competency is particularly crucial in specialized healthcare services, such as women’s health. Women face various health challenges throughout different phases of their lives, including issues related to urogynecology, gynecology, infertility, menopause, and sexual health. Women’s healthcare services require a comprehensive approach that integrates physiological, social, and environmental factors. The widespread adoption of digital health technologies—such as artificial intelligence, robotic surgery, telehealth, and mobile applications—supports diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services while improving accessibility to healthcare professionals.Digital health literacy enhances women’s ability to access health-related information, empowering them to manage their health effectively, prevent diseases, and improve health outcomes. However, the limited initiatives aimed at increasing digital health literacy in Türkiye highlight the need for further development in this area. Strengthening digital literacy in women’s healthcare will enable individuals to manage their health more efficiently, ultimately contributing to public health improvements. Research and educational programs play a critical role in this process.
