Data-driven state estimation and smart meter data privacy preservation for low-voltage distribution grids
As the distribution grids are evolving into active distribution networks, their observability through measurement devices is increasingly important so that right and timely actions can be taken on the grid . State estimators are among crucial tools in network capacity management and monitoring. Even in highly observable networks, such tools are needed for error detection purposes. Albeit their high maturity level for transmission networks in general and availability of various data sources for distribution networks and prosumers, their full-fledged applications in the latter are still challenging. This paper provides an active network management concept and a case study on state estimation tested on a real distribution network in the Netherlands.
