Web/HTML5 interfaces as a new paradigm for SCADA systems
The HTML5 standard has brought additional features enabling native browser support, especially for graphical resources, previously only possible through specific plugins. Currently, web applications have interfaces and usability that are very similar to the existing traditional desktop software, so using the same technologies in SCADA systems has also become possible. This paper presents a modern SCADA HMI concept used in the operation of electrical systems based on the standards available for Internet applications, which include HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS styles, developed with the focus on improving user experience.
