Standardized model-based systems engineering applied to substation automation systems testing
Emerging IT technologies like virtualization complicate the specification and testing process of Protection Automation and Control Systems (PACS) for substations. This paper proposes a framework based on IEC and ISO standards, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and the Common Requirement Modelling Language (CRML) to integrate requirements modelling and testing into one workflow, enabling a more easy, efficient and flexible engineering process.
