Lightning protection for overhead distribution lines on a wind farm power plant: implementation and expected performance
This study investigates lightning phenomena, their consequences, and how the future installation of Line Lightning Protection Devices (LLPDs) – specifically the dM35z – can improve outage rates on overhead lines at wind farms in Brazil. The following pages summarize the research conducted by engineers at Streamer Electric AG, analysing the effectiveness of LLPDs in reducing line outages.
