Supporting local, regional and national energy plans through targeted electricity network planning support
As new Low Carbon Technologies (LCTs) are deployed onto the electricity network to support the transition to Net Zero, this is changing the supply of and demand for electricity. As GB electricity networks continue their transition to Distribution System Operators (DSOs), customer interaction is critical to better enable local Net Zero plans and to ensure that investment programmes are aligned with forecasted growth in capacity and grid connections to support customer ambitions. This paper will outline how SP Energy Networks are supporting Local Authorities in their infrastructure planning processes to understand the network in greater detail and identify potential network investments that are required as part of their Net Zero plans.
