Greenfield grid planning supporting the energy transition
NEOM is a sustainable region, envisioned as part of Vision 2030, being developed in Saudi Arabia's Tabuk Province, covering an area approximately equivalent to the size of Belgium, or 14 times the area of Singapore. It aims to attract foreign investment and drive diversification in the kingdom. With scarce pre-existing electrical grid infrastructure and extreme weather conditions. ENOWA, NEOM’s energy and water company, is creating a fully integrated energy system to support the NEOM region using 100% renewable energy, with very high reliability and resiliency, supported by smart grid technology, battery storage, demand response, and with the KSA grid when required.
