PAYLAŞIMLI ULAŞIM MODELLERİ: SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR KENT YAŞAMINA GEÇİŞTE YENİ TRENDLER
Today's cities face significant challenges such as increasing traffic congestion, air pollution, and the need for sustainable transportation. In this context, shared transportation models emerge as an alternative that reduces individual vehicle ownership, optimizes urban mobility, and supports environmental sustainability. This study evaluates the environmental, economic, and social impacts of shared transportation systems and examines their contributions to urban life. From an environmental perspective, shared transportation reduces carbon emissions by decreasing individual vehicle use and alleviating traffic congestion. Electric vehicle sharing systems and micro-mobility options (bike and scooter sharing) improve air quality by reducing fossil fuel consumption. Economically, accessing transportation services when needed, rather than owning a vehicle, lowers transportation costs for individuals, increases cities' economic efficiency, and creates new job opportunities. Socially, shared transportation solutions enhance mobility for low-income individuals, promote transportation equity, and encourage social integration within cities. However, the widespread adoption of these systems face significant barriers, including a lack of regulatory frameworks, user habits, and infrastructure deficiencies. In this regard, the study recommends supporting shared transportation policies in urban planning, developing regulatory frameworks, and increasing infrastructure investments. This study serves as a guide for policymakers and urban planners in integrating shared transportation into sustainable urban life.
