Changes in consumer satisfaction and awareness following the introduction of the use by date system

Following the transition from &quotexpiration date&quot to &quotuse by date&quot labeling systems, ongoing investigations are tracking consumer acceptance by assessing awareness of the consumption period, dietary patterns, and demographic variables such as age, household composition, and purchasing frequency. A survey targeting consumers who purchase food at least once monthly revealed that 90.9% were aware of the current use by date labeling system, with higher purchase frequency correlating to greater awareness. Regarding satisfaction with the system, 72.1% of respondents expressed approval, indicating majority acceptance of the revised labeling framework. These findings suggest that heightened awareness and frequent engagement with the system foster trust in consumption period indicators, which in turn drives adaptive behavioral shifts among consumers.
