ANALYSIS OF FINANCIAL MONITORING TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES USED IN DIFFERENT JURISDICTIONS
This article examines the tools and techniques employed for financial monitoring and antimoney laundering (AML) across different jurisdictions, focusing on the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and Japan. It compares regulatory frameworks, real-time transaction monitoring systems, blockchain forensic analytics, and Know Your Customer (KYC)/AML practices in these regions. The findings indicate that each jurisdiction adopts a distinct approach: the US leverages robust Bank Secrecy Act reporting and extensive Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) regimes, the UK combines regulatory innovation with proactive oversight (including in the crypto sector), the EU harmonizes standards via AML Directives across member states, and Japan enforces strict compliance especially by licensing cryptocurrency exchanges. A table of original data and an illustrative figure are included to compare key metrics such as reporting volumes. The author provides insights and recommendations on enhancing the effectiveness of AML monitoring through advanced technologies and improved international cooperation.
