Metaline Array Antenna Using Axial Rotation Technique

This paper proposes a parallel translation (PT) metaline array antenna using the axial rotation technique (ART) to reduce grating lobes during wide-angle beam steering. The proposed array antenna radiates a linearly polarized wave by synthesizing right- and left-hand circularly polarized waves. The directivity of the proposed antenna during wide-angle beam steering is enhanced by 1.6 dB compared to that of a non-PT array antenna.

Abstract

This paper proposes a parallel translation (PT) metaline array antenna using the axial rotation technique (ART) to reduce grating lobes during wide-angle beam steering. The proposed array antenna radiates a linearly polarized wave by synthesizing right- and left-hand circularly polarized waves. The directivity of the proposed antenna during wide-angle beam steering is enhanced by 1.6 dB compared to that of a non-PT array antenna.
