Poster: Seamless Cellular-WLAN Aggregation with Connectivity-Aware Flow Control
Rapid growth in application bandwidth demand has challenged cellular networks to maintain high Quality of Service (QoS) using licensed spectrum alone. NR-WLAN Aggregation (NWA), standardized in 3GPP Release 16, addresses this by combining licensed and unlicensed spectrum resources. However, current flow control mechanisms are inadequate for heterogeneous dual-connectivity environments where frequent WLAN disconnections occur. This paper identifies disconnection timing prediction as a fundamental bottleneck in NWA flow control and proposes a connectivity-aware transmission volume fitting approach to minimize packet loss, reduce recovery time, and maximize throughput.
