AI-Powered Navigation Assistance for the Visually Impaired
This paper presents a wearable assistive device designed to support individuals who are blind or visually impaired by providing real-time information about surrounding objects and their distances. The system integrates camera-based object detection with depth estimation and delivers spoken feedback through headphones, enabling users to better perceive and navigate their environment. Initial evaluations demonstrate that the device can accurately recognize common objects and estimate distances, offering a practical advancement toward safer and more independent mobility.
