A Comparative Study of CO2 emissions in Electrical, Hybrid, Fuel Cell and Bioethanol Fuel Cell Vehicles
This paper contributes to the development of a sustainable transportation system by conducting a comparative study of CO2 emissions from various vehicle types, including Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs), and Bioethanol FCEVs. The different powertrain systems were modeled within a MATLAB/Simulink framework and evaluated under various driving scenarios. The study concludes by summarizing key insights from the modeling process and highlighting the promising role of Hydrogen powered vehicles as a sustainable solution toward Electric Vehicles (EV) massive development.
